Telephone screening
Once we get closer to your country's respective Selection Day, our Talent Coordinator’s will plan their telephone interviews with the selected candidates. Have you passed the electronic assessment? Then the Talent Coordinator who is responsible for your country will contact you to plan a telephone interview. The phone interview will take approximately 30 minutes. During this time, the Talent Coordinator is assessing your motivation, natural competencies and your electronic assessment through open and situational interview questions.
Tips!
Before your interview find out everything you can about the company, the position you are applying for and why you are right for the job.
Re-read your application, thinking through your own career wishes and questions they might ask you. You should try to anticipate the general questions which they will ask and also always prepare some questions to ask them. This shows inquisitiveness and interest in their company.
A good way to prepare for an interview is to practice with a friend. This could help you in many ways: it can help you formulate your answers, it helps you think of questions you haven’t thought of before and it will help you in getting over your nerves about someone questioning you.
To do well at any interview, do your best to make it a two-way conversation. Most people are proud of what they have achieved and are willing to tell you quite a lot. Ask questions but do not forget to listen carefully to the answers.
Also, answer the questions that are asked of you! It sounds simple, but is a mistake which people make quite often. Due to nervousness, they do not listen to the questions and therefore do not answer the right question. If you do not understand the question, ask the person interviewing to repeat the question and listen carefully. It is not a problem if there is a moment of silence while you think of your answer. Take your time to come up with an answer you are satisfied with.
Many people forget during an interview that is it not just the company assessing you, it is also a moment for you to consider if the company is the right match for you.
Of course you want this job, but will you seriously be happy at a company where you don’t fit in? Therefore don’t hesitate to ask questions when things are not what you have expected.
